The use of VoIP is growing and bringing more and more benefits to companies worldwide, new analysis suggests.

A new report from ReportLinker suggests that adoption of VoIP is growing faster than ever globally, particularly as the options on offer are improving all the time and more firms and individuals become aware of the benefits VoIP can offer.

Moving away from being a niche offering, it is fair to say that VoIP is now a mainstream choice, with many homes and businesses using the technology ever day.

Furthermore, VoIP prices are also coming down all the time, due to market competitiveness and a drive from providers to offer the best deal to attract customers. This is good news for businesses looking to streamline their costs, especially when you consider than VoIP saves businesses money anyway.

As well as being an affordable option, another of VoIP’s major draws is its flexibility. The solution can be tailored to a business’s very specific needs.

As vendors note the opportunity that VoIP offers, they are set to improve their offerings even further and many are likely to look into dropping copper-based phone lines in exchange for the modern IP-based telephony that today’s businesses and consumers want.

An earlier VoIP report from ReportLinker said that VoIP offerings are also growing in the mobile arena, through tools such as social media, smartphones and more. It stated, “There will be opportunities for the mobile telecoms industry in the IP convergence/substitution market. By introducing fixed VoIP to cellular telephony and mobile VoIP to fixed telephony, operators will have the opportunities to grow on a unified voice and multimedia service experience.”

It added, “VoIP services are cheaper than circuit-switched services on traditional legacy networks. VoIP has diversified from purely voice implementation to a complete multimedia experience offering video calling, video conferencing, gaming and many other features.”
