Zzoomm adds seven market towns to FTTP rollout

Full fibre operator Zzoommm has announced that it has added a further seven market towns to its ongoing Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) rollout. The seven new towns, spread across Yorkshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire, will mean that Zzoomm has announced enough locations to bring its rollout to 250,000 UK premises.

Oxford-based Zzoomm, which has financial backing from Oaktree Capital Management, is ultimately aiming to deliver its FTTP network to 1 million premises across 85 towns in the UK by the end of 2025. The provider is already building its network and delivering connectivity in nine locations.

In Cheshire, Zzoomm has announced that it will expand its rollout to the towns of Congleton, Northwich and Sandbach, adding to its existing build around Crewe. In Staffordshire, the town of Wombourne has been added to the rollout, alongside Zzoomm’s existing presence in Cannock.

Finally, in North Yorkshire, Zzoomm will widen its rollout to the towns of Elmet, Stokesley and Great Ayton, building on its existing coverage in the towns of Thirsk, Easingwold and Northallerton.

Commenting on the announcement, Zzoomm CEO Matthew Hare said: "It's great to be announcing the next seven new market towns in our roll out and we are seeing strong up take of our full fibre offering across the areas in which we have already brought live."

"In just over two years we have launched in nine market towns. With the addition of these seven new market towns, we will be able to provide full fibre to over 250,000 homes and businesses. We are well advanced in our planning to roll out our service to a further 750,000 premises."

"We are proud that Zzoomm will be able to offer homes and businesses in these market towns a brilliant full fibre service with unmatched speeds that isn't reliant on the slow, unreliable copper used by other broadband providers in the area."
