hSo beats Brexit blues by securing Rugby Borough Council as yet another public sector client

24 May 2017, London, UK. Network services provider hSo has just procured Rugby Borough Council as a client, adding yet another public sector business to its growing customer base. hSo has had a great deal of success recently with new client wins, namely Companies House and Taunton Deane Borough Council, as government bodies look to make cost reductions in their IT infrastructure spend.

In November 2016 hSo identified a slowing trend in government tenders in the aftermath of Brexit (see research here), but this hasn’t impacted their ability to demonstrate how their whole of market IT services offerings can help businesses make considerable cost savings using hSo.

Like many private and public sector institutions, Rugby Borough Council has been exploring ways to reduce their network and telephony costs. After considerable research and examining the government’s RM1045 Network Services tender list of approved providers, they decided that hSo presented the most compelling and cost efficient solution that met their demands.

Chris Evans, Managing Director of hSo said:

“We are delighted to be working with Rugby Borough Council to implement a tailored solution to their requirements. They were incredibly easy to work with when it came to identifying the areas where we could help them drive cost efficiencies.”

Rugby town and the surrounding area have recently experienced a booming micro-economy, led by the recent opening of the World Rugby Hall of Fame museum in the town where the sport was born. The unique attraction, due to bring millions of visitors to the borough in the years to come, incited the council to design a more robust and scalable infrastructure, able to cope with increasing demands and fit for the future.

hSo’s solution provided converged voice and data communications leading to a cost effective way of delivering innovative solutions to taxpayer funded services across the borough. Faced with budgetary challenges from public sector spending cuts, the authority needed a cost effective and compliant solution in place which hSo has now delivered.

Andy Singleton, Corporate ICT Manager, Rugby Borough Council said:

“Throughout the engagement process hSo were willing to engage with us on a level that other suppliers are simply unable or unwilling to do, which is exactly what a local authority needs. The new hSo provided solution has enabled us to realise our operation and BC/DR objectives whilst simultaneously reducing our annual expenditure.”

“From our first engagement with hSo through to the implementation stages, the hSo staff have been on hand to assist with our every enquiry. Their ability to successfully deal with major infrastructure vendors on our behalf has vastly reduced the workload on an already overstretched ICT team. With ICT at the heart of driving efficiencies and cost savings in these difficult financial times, having the right partner on board to realise the required improvements has been vital.”

Evans added: “With a number of high profile public sector client wins over the past few months we are really starting to see a change in the mind set of public sector organisations.  The public sector is increasingly willing to adopt private sector initiatives when making changes to their existing IT infrastructure in order to generate cost savings and enhanced performance.”
